Run Foundations
Running Is a Skill—Learn How to Run Well
Most running programs focus on doing more: more miles, more intensity, more suffering.
Run Foundations takes a different approach.
This program treats running as a skill—one that can be learned, refined, and enjoyed.
Run Foundations is a 2-hour, hands-on workshop designed to improve running efficiency by teaching you how to move better, not just train harder. Through guided drills and practical coaching, you’ll develop a clearer awareness of your posture, stability, breathing, and striking mechanics—and learn how to integrate them into a smoother, more efficient stride.
You’ll learn what good running form looks like—but more importantly, what it feels like. When you know how efficient running feels, you can find it, maintain it, and recognize when you’re losing it. Drills allow you to slow things down, focus on quality, and build patterns that carry over into your runs.
Key Components to a Great Stride
Attendees will learn and practice the key tenants that constitute a great and efficient running technique. There is a lot of conflicting and misleading information out there. Although well intended, some cues and concepts can be misguided and misinterpreted. We take a bottoms-up AND top-down approach. From how to strike the ground to how your head positioning affects your stride - and everything in between.
Focus points:
Breathing mechanics and posture
Landing mechanics
Gear system
Spinal engine
Shoulder and arm mechanics
Head position
What You’ll Gain
The result of improved technique is:
Better speed and endurance
Reduced injury risk and setbacks
Improved recovery between runs
A more enjoyable and sustainable running experience
All without relying on continuously increasing mileage.
Breathing: The Missing Link in Running Performance
What truly sets Run Foundations apart is the emphasis on functional breathing.
Contrary to popular belief, exercise alone does not improve breathing. Just as poor running mechanics are reinforced by repetition, inefficient breathing patterns are also reinforced—often contributing to fatigue, poor recovery, and even exercise-induced asthma.
You’ll learn how to integrate efficient breathing into your running, reducing overall stress on the body while improving performance and recovery. And yes—it’s a great feeling when everyone else is gasping for air while you’re running calmly and in control.
Ongoing Support Beyond the Workshop
Participants receive:
Online video resources to reinforce and revisit key concepts
An open invitation to return to future Run Foundations workshops for up to 6 months, allowing you to refine your skills as your running evolves
This format gives you the flexibility to learn, apply, and return—without pressure or overwhelm.
